Hear historian and best-selling author Dr Monty Soutar speak about his Kāwai trilogy of historical novels at Devonport Library this Friday night. Tracing the author’s own ancestral line, the series reveals a picture of an indigenous Aotearoa in the mid-18th century, through to the first encounters between Maori and Europeans.

Very exciting news! Dr Monty Soutar will be joining us at Devonport Library on Friday 21st February. Dr Soutar is the author of the superb best-selling Kāwai series of novels: a powerful family saga set in Aotearoa in the early 18th century, written by a respected historian with immense knowledge and mana. Don't miss this opportunity to hear him! Doors open 6pm.
