🗣️ The people of Mt Roskill Puketāpapa have spoken

✍️ 1,835+ constituents have signed the open letter calling on National MP Carlos Cheung to support Chlöe Swarbrick’s Unlawful Occupation of Palestine Sanctions Bill

The ball is now in Carlos’ court and we have requested a formal response within 10 days

Massive thank you and appreciation to everyone who bas dug in these past months to coordinate and collect signatures, to organise meetings with Carlos, and for turning up to support yesterday. We see you, we appreciate every single one of you 🫶

Today the Mt Roskill Puketāpapa Open Letter for the Sanctions Bill will be officially handed over to Dr Carlos Cheung. At least 1835 constituents have signed the letter - that’s pretty powerful!

This is a massive milestone, and a reminder that change happens by the people, one signature, one voice at a time. And while the decision to apply sanctions now rests with the government, we must persist, we must continue to advocate, we must amplify Palestinian voices, we must push for change and we must stay strong and connected as a community.

One way we can strengthen our connection is through waiata (song).

We have the honour of the incredible Rana to help lead our waiata this afternoon and we’ve included the words for you to follow along.
