The COST OF LIVING is the major concern for everyone I am meeting on the campaign trail, followed closely by the timely access to and affordability of Healthcare.

Over the next 3-4 weeks I will be hosting a series of Public Meetings in Pukekohe, Waiuku & Pokeno assisted by Deborah Russell, Labour MP and Max Harris for Tāmaki. These meetings are to give the community an opportunity to come and share their feedback and hear what Labour will do to help you.

Hard working kiwis deserve better and you CAN have a more affordable future with access to healthcare at a reasonable cost at a time when you need it.

We cannot afford another 3 years of National.

So Save The Date, tell your whanau, friends and neighbours and come and talk Cost of Living, Healthcare and any other things that concern you.

Just got back after a long day out with my team putting up hoardings plus squeezing in a couple of community visits. Now a break with the family but just before that I wanted to share an interview I did last night with Emma Kim from Democrasee at the Franklin Library. As a family we enjoy playing board games and Democrasee is a kiwi designed well thought through initiative to teach young and old the MMP process, electorates and policy decisions.

You can pre-order the game via www.democrasee.co.nz or access/request it via your local library.

Emma will also be at the Waiuku Library after school next Friday 11th Sept if anyone would like to have a go.

Make sure all 18+ year olds you know understand the importance of using their voice this election. Get them to check their details or enrol on or before 25 October.

A big weekend ahead of our campaign team and I just want to say a massive thank you to every single one of our volunteers who continue to turn up, give your time and energy to our campaign.

Tomorrow we will have volunteers across the electorate in the main sites with an army of amazing caterers delivering sustenance to keep them going! So if you see a hoarding going up, give a toot and a wave to cheer them all on.

Everywhere I go across the electorate I meet so many hard working people who are feeling under huge pressure and struggling to pay bills. Accessing affordable healthcare is another major concern. Elderly people really worried about rising power costs and the risk of benefits being cut. They are all looking for a better future.

We can and will deliver just that and better starts now as we put up the New Zealand Labour Party and Matt Brachi for Labour Port Waikato hoardings across the electorate. Signs for a better future, signs of hope and the promise of putting people first.

This election let’s show this government that the Port Waikato community wants to put people first and that all hard working kiwis deserve to have a decent life.
