Coastguard North Shore Volunteers Nominated for National Honours!

We’re proud to announce that two of our incredible North Shore Rescue volunteers have been named finalists in the Coastguard New Zealand Awards of Excellence!

Reinhard Wirtenberger – Outstanding Leader of the Year
A calm, knowledgeable, and dedicated leader, Reinhard has shown incredible leadership and commitment in both on and off water operations and his mentorship of new crew.

Leah Sinton – Emerging Volunteer of the Year
Leah’s drive, professionalism, and teamwork have made her an invaluable member of the unit and standout among volunteers nationwide. We are yet to find a task Leah can’t master.

“These nominations are a huge honour for our unit,” says our Crewmaster. “Reinhard and Leah truly embody the spirit of volunteerism that keeps Coastguard running.”
