🎸 The Rock Stars of the Sea!

Meet The Electric Skates – played by Ollie, Levi, Sara, Ava, and Alice – the heavily tattooed, punk-rock fish band bringing some serious edge to Cambridge Middle School’s production of The SpongeBob Musical: Youth Edition!
This high-voltage crew is ready to shake the ocean floor with their signature style:

Ollie is "crazy and full of energy."
Levi is pure "Rock and Roll!"
Sara is "a skater, rocker, and oozes coolness."
Ava & Alice are bringing that classic "rock and roll" spirit to the stage.

The group has been having a blast in rehearsals, from Levi mastering the songs to Alice and Ollie enjoying the chance to hang out and meet new people. Ava has felt her singing and confidence grow with every practice, and Sara is certain that "Bikini Bottom Boogie" will blow the audience away - being the only rock song in the show, it’s going to be totally cool!

🎤 Breaking News from Bikini Bottom!

Meet Perch Perkins – played by Beau – the well groomed, smooth-talking, diva reporter keeping everyone updated on the latest undersea scoops, and the Mayor of Bikini Bottom – played by Emmeline – the "bossy" and "cold" leader trying (and perhaps failing) to keep the peace in Cambridge Middle School’s production of The SpongeBob Musical: Youth Edition!

Beau brings a hilarious energy to the role, perfectly capturing the "voice of the ocean." Throughout the rehearsal process, he has loved the laughs shared with the cast and the challenge of being a lead role - mastering the "triple threat" of singing, dancing, and acting!

As the volcanic threat looms, watch as Emmeline’s character takes charge with a hilariously dictatorial edge. Emmeline is most excited for the high-energy town scenes and the show-stopping number "When the Going Gets Tough," where every character’s unique personality truly shines!

🏑🏑 WIMS Hockey news...

Today a group of keen CMS hockey players took part in the WIMS (Inter-Schools) Hockey tournament in Hamilton.

Our team finished the tournament undefeated, scoring 19 goals and conceding just two all day 🏆

The best part of the day was the camaraderie displayed between teams, with our HERO values on display. Well done team 🤩

🥁🥁 Last Wednesday and Thursday the CMS Drumline group attended the Matamata Intermediate Music Marathon Camp. A huge thank you to tutor Mr. Telfar for supporting our kids in improving their rhythm, beat, and drum line skills. We also extend our gratitude to Matamata Intermediate for hosting our tamariki. 🐟 The Ultimate Fan Club!

Meet the Sardines – played by Mirela, Jessica, and Jossy – the "fanatical," "devoted," and "high-energy" followers of Patrick Star in Cambridge Middle School’s production of The SpongeBob Musical: Youth Edition!

This trio brings a wave of excitement to the stage with their own unique flair:
Mirela is "devoted, loyal, and quirky."
Jessica is "confident, humorous, and friendly."
Jossy is "always there, confident, and a little bit cheeky."

Throughout rehearsals, Mirela and Jossy have loved leveling up their singing skills with their vocal coach, Tayla, while Jessica has enjoyed the magic of seeing everyone’s characters come to life. Together, they are ready to lead Patrick’s fan club with plenty of heart and harmony!
