As many of you will have seen, Parents Centre Aotearoa has sadly ceased operations. Fortunately for those based in Christchurch our wonderful educators will be continuing giving everyone the best antenatal education!

✨VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE A&P SHOW ✨

Christchurch Parents Centre is proud to once again host the Parents Tent at this years Canterbury A&P show!

We are seeking volunteers to help host the tent from Wednesday 15th Nov - Friday 17th Nov with a late night (7:30pm) on Thursday.

SHARE YOUR PREGNANCY! We are big supporters of Ara and their student midwives. Here is a great opportunity:

“We are looking for some pregnant women due between March - Oct that would be interested in helping educate the next generation of midwives by sharing this special time with a first year midwifery student.

With having a student midwife, they can be there for as little or as much as you like. They can follow through your pregnancy with you, support you and also to support your current LMC. These students can be your support person at your antenatal appointments and can also attend your pregnancy scans, midwife appointments and anything else you feel comfortable with.

This is fantastic for our students and also fantastic for mothers that would also like a bit more support.
Previous mothers that have had student midwifes, have mentioned the extra support they received having a student midwife with them, they had more emotional support at appointments and also were able to ask them questions too. Many form great relationships that then lead onto their student midwife being their LMC at a later date”

Our Baby & You book has been designed and developed fo complement the messages, topics and information you receive in your Parents Centre education programmes, as well as those from your lead maternity carer (midwife or obstetrician). Each article has been carefully researched and reviewed by leading experts, to ensure you have the best information with which to make your own decisions.

We are down here at the Christchurch A and P show, at the parents pit stop, and lost children (and toys!) tent. We have a quiet shady place to feed and change bubs, come down and see us!
