Twenty years after the name was repainted on the gate we are replacing the gateposts. The posts had rotted at ground level and were being held up by the fence and letterbox - not really able to fulfill their purpose of supporting the gate! New posts are coming and will have the 'trim' added to the top. We are not sure whether the Anderson's gate was moved along the road to the new driveway in the 1930s or whether it was new then. The metal hinges seem to have a solid look to them. The gatepost trims at the top may have been crafted by Ewart Smith.

Heather came to Christchurch to work on a faux wood repair in the music room - ended up removing one or two things from the maid's room so that it can be used as a bedroom again!

Work has been underway on a couple of the paths - making them safer for some of us who are getting older and trip easily.
