Hi Folks, for those who don't know me, im Shona, and I'm wanting to start this page to see who else is behind getting our wonderful local beach & "4 SURE" back "up & running".
Its looking a bit "forlorn" for want of a better word, its been battered around a bit, but NOT BEATEN!!!
Our community & businesses are "so ready" for progress!!!
I wanted to bring my children up around the beach, so they could experience the amazingness that it is. I have always found the beach & water to be so calming, a place of restfulness, yet playfulness. Where families, loved ones, yound & old alike,including our pets could all roam freely, interconnecting with the beach on whatever level!
A mere "walk along the beach" could be fun, exercise, hard work, no work or romance (as in sunsets of course); picnics, fish & chups, sammies, fizzy or vino! Lol! Seagulls & p**p! (flogging yo food) Lol!
All fond memories ... & its quite difficult to see it in its current state!
We have the least "active" foreshore in fairly well most countries.
Mostly they are "built up" as an asset" bringing in tourists to encourage the economy!
Consider covering it in (even partially), bringing our aquarium/salt water pools, more cafes, cycleways (like Sumner), markets etc.
I know its "battered", but beaten "NAH"!!!
Who's behind me to see if we can encourage the "growth" it needs to truly "get it going" again, see if our Council/Govt will see it as a "thriving" opportunity to reinvigorate our "4 SURE", are'nt they behind re-developing the rest of our city!!!
