How many New Zealanders have taken in boarders just to make ends meet?

I have.

I have opened my home to strangers so I can take personal responsibility for my financial situation, reduce my reliance on government support, and do my part rather than expecting taxpayers to pick up the bill.

Yet what does the Government do? It penalises people who choose to be self-sufficient.

Instead of rewarding initiative and personal responsibility, excessive taxation and regulation put their hands deeper into the pockets of people who are simply trying to get ahead.

The Conservative Party will not penalise people for taking in boarders.

We believe people who work hard, take responsibility and find ways to support themselves should be encouraged — not punished.

Less government. Lower taxes. More personal responsibility.
