These next few weeks we have a special focus on father figures as we approach Fathers Day. “No man stands taller than when he stoops to help a child,”is a quote from Abraham Lincoln that reminds us of the focus we can have by stooping, kneeling, or sitting to get to a child's level. Stopping and dropping to the height of a child makes us available.

Save Friday the 4th September to have a fish n chip night with us. 5:15pm Baptist church. Thanks to Dargaville Woolworths for funding our dessert bar. 🎉

So many bears to cuddle today. Tickle, touch and talk is closeness that builds resilience in your tamaiti (child). Tamariki understand the world through their senses. Cuddling in response to their needs helps them express affection. Also helps regulate when strong emotions are being experienced. Providing comfort ensures your tamaiti refuels, regroups, and is ready to tackle the next adventure.

See you next Wednesday for more mainly music fun as we prepare for a Special Father’s Day event on Friday 4th September. We’ve got dinner together! 😋

Do you know that song 'Head Shoulders Knees and Toes'? As you sing, naming the part of the body, you’ll be encouraging your children to learn without even realising. As they use the word and tap/pat/rub/tickle (whatever the action is) on their body, they’re reinforcing the word and its meaning.
If English is your subsequent language, you’ll find this helpful too.

⏰ 10am Wednesday’s
📍 Baptist Church, 185 Victoria St

We love how music brings us together but look at the benefits of unstructured free-play:
* Physical: Gross motor strength, balance, bilateral coordination, fine motor control, hand–eye coordination.
* Cognitive: Problem-solving, spatial awareness, cause-and-effect understanding, sustained attention.
* Language: Opportunities for vocabulary development and storytelling during pretend play.
* Social and Emotional: Independent confidence, self-directed learning, peer observation, and early cooperative play.
* Creative: Imaginative and symbolic play using open-ended materials.

It’s great to be back together every Wednesday morning 10am at the Baptist Church, 185 Victoria St.

New songs and a new prop as we get ready for our Super Duper Teddy Bear’s picnic 12th August.

Here’s some fun tips on why we use Lycra:
🔥 Co-operation: so everyone enjoys the use of the prop together.
🔥 High/low: directional concepts. You need to know where ‘high’ or ‘up’ is to follow a direction (write the alphabet, play sports).
🔥 Experiencing IN/OUT
🔥 Interpretation and Imagination
🔥 Spending time UNDER
🔥 Experiencing BEAT

"Oh, we're halfway there..."

Life with little ones goes fast. It's good to slow down for a moment, especially with it being the end of another month (and halfway through the year!) and ask ourselves:
What did June ask of me for my family?
What foundations were built along the way?
What do I want to carry with me into July for my family?

What a beautiful session celebrating Mother’s Day together this week. 💛

Motherhood is one of the hardest callings, yet also one of the most rewarding. We loved honouring mums and mother figures—recognising the unseen work, deep love, and sacrifices you make.

We also acknowledge that this day isn’t easy for everyone, and we’re so grateful to share this space with you, whatever your journey looks like 🤍
Mainly Music is back next Wednesday, 10:00am, Dargaville Baptist Church, 185 Victoria St. 🎶

Thank you to Blah’s cafe for organising vouchers for us. We are blessed. 🙏🏽https://www.facebook.com/share/17g3LfHx8X/?mibextid=wwXIfr
