📚 Practice Exams are coming up in Week 9 – and they matter!

These exams are an important opportunity to prepare for your NCEA externals and show what you know.

Your practice exams:

📝 Provide evidence for a Derived Grade if you are unable to sit an external exam for an approved reason.

🎯 Give you valuable feedback and feedforward – find out what you did well, where you lost marks, and what you can do to improve your grade and exam technique before the final exams.

📈 Help you prepare for your externals – including managing your time, understanding questions and practising under exam conditions.

External exams are independently marked and provide nationally recognised results. They contribute towards NCEA, course and certificate endorsements, University Entrance and provide evidence of achievement for future study, training and employment.

You have already put in the time and done the learning. Now is the time to make it count.

Day 4 at UNISS saw the girls come up against two of their strongest opponents yet to finish Top 8 pool play.

After a slow second quarter against Te Kura Māori o Ngā Tapuwae, the girls were down 13–21 at halftime. They fought back to draw level at 27–27 early in the fourth, but fell just short of completing the comeback, going down 32–35.

In the afternoon, they went up against a sharp Waihi College team. The girls had good periods but struggled to stick with them, taking a 22–33 loss.

This places them fourth in the pool and means today they’ll play for positions 5–8. They play their semi-final against Katikati College at 9:30 AM on Court 17. This game will determine whether they play off for 5th/6th or 7th/8th at 1:30 PM, with the opponent and court for that game confirmed following the result of the morning game.

Both games will be streamed live on Facebook so make sure you hop on to get around the girls and catch all the action of the final day of tournament. If we are put on one of the courts livestreamed by UNISS for our final game, the link will be added to this post.
