If you have an emergency and can’t get thru on 111 call either Lynden Prebble 027 241 0868 or Snow Dunnage 021 026 60527. While 111 emergency calls are priority the power interruption is affecting both the 111 system and our emergency alert system.

Like us, multi-boards can get stressed when overloaded. They are designed for low current appliances.

Heavy draw appliances like heaters, kettles, and washing machines should all be plugged directly into the wall.

Stay safe this winter

Happy National Volunteer Week to all our volunteers!

We've seen over the past few days how vital our volunteers are to the fire and emergency services in New Zealand. Here are a few stats from our Hidden in Plain Sight report highlighting their importance.

In the words of UFBA CEO, Bill Butzbach "It is clear they are a taonga, a treasure and as a nation, we need to protect and preserve them. The sacrifices our volunteers make cannot be taken for granted."

Thank you all for your commitment and dedication to keeping your communities safe - 24/7, 365 days a year.

We also thank the whanau and employers of volunteers for your support, we know volunteers couldn't do this without you!

Kia kaha, kia kotahi ra

The brigade’s medical team spent the day doing their 6 monthly refresher. The day was very well lead by Shelley and Cat from St John’s. Topics covered included patient assessments, high performance CPR, and drugs and their uses and administration. A great day with plenty of practical hands on training.
