Junior Neighbourhood Support Otago

Junior Neighbourhood Support Otago Junior Neighbourhood Support is part of Otago Neighbourhood Support.

It is a community-based programme run, in partnership with safety organisations, within primary schools. Junior Neighbourhood Support is a fully funded programme that aims to promote a sense of pride, safety and community spirit, in children and in the wider school community. The programme works in partnership with NZ Police, Fire, Civil Defence & Emergency Management, and local sponsors including

many Rotary and service clubs. The Junior Neighbourhood Support programme was named one of the top five international Rotary supported programmes in 2004. The programme rewards and recognises primary and intermediate school students who have assisted others or have done something that demonstrates community spirit and pride, or supports community safety.

Here's a few pics from some of the Neighbours' Day parties happening around the valley last weekend. So lovely to see people connecting and getting to know their neighbours.
A big high-five to all the people who took the time to organise events for their streets and a thank you from the Valley Project for inviting us to your events.
Thanks also to Gardens New World who donated $50 food packs to each neighbourly event.
Feeling inspired - you can still organise a neighbourhood get-together any time and help make your street a friendlier, safer place to live.
