We are now under 4 weeks away from the cut off of voting for the DCC by- election. It’s extremely important that you vote. Don’t just assume your preferred candidate will get in. You need to help them, whoever they may be.

The most important thing this time is that people vote!

Nominations for the by election closed today. There are 14 candidates for one seat. The thing that matters most is that people vote. And don’t be afraid to vote for more than one candidate. Under STV, you number your choices. And your number one choice is not in any way disadvantaged by having 2, 3, 4 etc choices. If I’m not your number one preference, I would be honoured to be on your list somewhere. Thank you.

This is what got me interested in standing for council 25 years ago. Although a new stage hasn’t been built since, there have been many events in the most iconic part of the city by using temporary stages. And that’s only a part of what council provides for the city.

As we move into the lead-up to this by-election, it is important for everyone to be sure to vote. My focus is on Dunedin, not government politics, or wasting time on things we can't control. Our people, our infrastructure and services, and professional behaviour at the council table.

I’m Standing for the Dunedin City Council By-election 2026.

Dunedin deserves calm, steady representation. I’ve spent decades representing this city professionally, in community life and standing in front of thousands of Dunedin people. I understand how to listen.
This by-election isn’t about ideology. It’s about practical decisions, careful stewardship of rates, and respectful leadership. If you want experience without drama, and someone focused solely on Dunedin, I’d be honoured to earn your vote.

My Priorities
Stabilise Rates
Be more careful with public money
Prioritise roads, drains and facilities
Fun City

A Local Voice You Can Trust
I bring experience, independence, and a commitment to listening to residents and working constructively for Dunedin’s future.
