Dancing, Swimming and Representing Manawatū 👏

At Council on Wednesday 2 September, three rangatahi shared their recent achievements representing the Manawatū District on national and international stages.

Supported by MDC's Representative Fund:

🕺 Oscar and Lenny Hansen-Wall travelled to Arizona to compete in the World Hip Hop Dance Championships

🏊 Kaylee Miller travelled to Auckland for the New Zealand Secondary School Swimming Championships

Oscar, Lenny and Kaylee’s presentations were warmly received by Council, with Mayor Michael Ford describing it as a “pleasure to help in a small way”, a sentiment echoed by Elected Members around the table.

Congratulations Oscar, Lenny and Kaylee!

Gooooooooood Morning, Manawatū 👋

While there haven’t been any weather warnings, now that daylight’s here it’s a good time to have a quick check around and see how things have held up.

🏠 Check around your property for anything that’s shifted, come loose or taken a battering.
🐑 Check on stock and any new lambs (they do seem to have a knack for arriving in the worst weather!)
🚗 Take care on the roads and keep an eye out for branches, debris or other hazards.

And with more wet weather forecast this week, a little preparation now won’t hurt:

👉 Make the most of the rain and have those water tanks ready to fill.
👉 Keep the firewood dry and out of the elements.
👉 Find the torch now, rather than looking for it in the dark.

If you spot something while you’re out and about that needs Council’s attention, report it through Antenno or give us a call on 06 323 0000.
