Let’s stop this! ❌🚮

There has been an increase in blue bags (and non-Council rubbish bags) pilling up afterhours in rural collection spots across the Manawatū District.

🪰 This is considered fly tipping.

Bags that miss the rubbish truck are ripped into by animals, leaving the surrounding area scattered with rubbish that spreads into neighbouring properties. It also creates a chain effect, as others add their bags to the pile as they think it's okay to do so.

Please remember:

⌚ Blue bags can be dropped off from 12pm the day before your scheduled collection day, up until 7:30am on collection day.

✋ If you miss the drop-off time, take your blue bags to the Transfer Station (247 Kawakawa Road Feilding) free of charge, or wait until the next scheduled collection.

View the scheduled rural bluebag collection drop-off points on MDC’s website: https://www.mdc.govt.nz/services/rubbish-recycling-and-waste/rural-rubbish-and-recycling/drop-off-points

It's time to register your dog, Manawatū! 🐶

Your loyal furry friend deserves tail-wagging adventures around the District, and as their owner, you deserve services and protocols that help keep them safe. This is all part of dog registrations.

With lifetime tags, your dog keeps the same tag as last year.

But registration is more than just a tag - it helps reunite you with your furry friend if they get lost, supports Council's Animal Control team to deliver services and maintain our District as a safe place for everyone.

👀 Keep an eye on your mailbox, or email inbox, for your dog's renewal letter.

💵 Save your moolah! Register by 31 July for a discounted rate.

👉 Register your dog on our website: https://www.mdc.govt.nz/services/dogs-and-animals/dogs/dog-registration

✏️ Or in person at MDC’s Administration office: 135 Manchester Street Feilding
