Made for the quiet places.

No loud logos, nothing to announce. Just you, somewhere green and still, wrapped in something that was made slowly and by hand back home in NZ.

Where's your quiet place? I'd love to know. Send this to whoever you'd take there.

Every jumper we sell puts a native tree in the ground.

They go in around Gisborne, where my roots are: manuka, kowhai, pohutukawa, the trees that belong on those hillsides. Some of the sections have been growing for over ten years now, slowly turning back into the bush they once were.

It is a small thing on its own. But jumper by jumper, it adds up to something you can walk through. Your wardrobe, quietly regenerating a hillside.

This is the kind of thing your purchase supports when you buy from a small maker who cares.

When it's truly cold, you'll understand.

Possum fibre is hollow, the same trick polar bears use, which is why these blends are warmer than cashmere and light enough to forget you're wearing. This is the jumper that quietly outperforms your puffer.

Save this for when you're ready to feel the difference.

The Sunday jumper.
The piece you pull on the moment the day belongs to you again. No plans, no pressure, just something soft and warm and yours. Cashmere possum silk, so it's buttery warmth without the weight.

Tag the person you'd happily spend a whole slow Sunday with.

Seafoam. My quiet favourite, though don't tell the others.

Some colours you plan for months. Others just arrive on the machine and refuse to leave. This soft sea-green was the second kind, and now I can't imagine a season without it. Cashmere possum silk, knitted in NZ.

Which CHARLY colour is calling your name right now? Tell me below.

I almost didn't post this. Talking about yourself feels awkward when you're a one-woman band who'd rather just be drawing, designing and knitting (with the odd bit of pottery and yoga thrown in)

But here's the thing I've learned: when you buy from a small label, you're not just buying a jumper. You're deciding what kind of world you want your money to build. One where clothes are made fast, cheap and far away, or one where they're made consciously, slowly, by people you could actually meet, close to home.

If that's the kind of brand you want in your corner, I'd love for you to stick around.

From the ski field to the school run, this is what our knitwear is made for.

Charly pieces are not made to sit in a wardrobe waiting for a special occasion. They are made for real New Zealand winters: cold mornings, changeable days, the drive home when the heater finally kicks in. Warm enough for the mountains, easy enough for a Tuesday.

That is the whole idea. Beautiful things you actually live in.

If that is your kind of brand, come follow along. There is a lot more to share.

The best thing you can do for your knitwear is wash it less.

Merino has natural lanolin that resists odour and freshens on its own, so airing a jumper overnight usually does more than a wash ever would. When it does need cleaning, cold water and drying flat keeps the shape and the softness for years.

Over-washing is what wears knitwear out. Treat it gently and a good piece will outlast almost everything else in your wardrobe.

Save this for the next time you are about to throw a jumper in the machine out of habit.

I could make more of these. I choose not to.

Every design is knitted in a batch of no more than twenty. That is not a marketing line, it is the honest limit of doing this properly as a small NZ label. It means each piece is finished with care, colours are considered, and nothing ends up in an outlet bin at the end of the season.

It also means the piece you own is genuinely one of very few. There is something quietly lovely about that.

This is Jacaranda, one of my favourite colours I have ever put on the machine.

However you spent your week, thanks for being here.

The sale finishes tonight, but mostly I want to say how much it means to have people who care about where their clothes come from and who makes them. Every order this week planted a native tree and kept a small NZ label knitting for another season. That is you doing that.

If you have been meaning to have a look, tonight is your last chance at the sale price. Either way, I am really glad you are here.
