The real cost of a jumper is not just the price.

It is how many microplastics it sheds with each wear, each wash (ZERO for us!)
How versatile it is and how many times you wear it before it is no longer repairable.

Cost per wear is something we are noticing our customers are more and more aware of. So thank you for doing the maths.

As the days get longer, and the mornings get warmer... a reminder to wash your knitwear (gently) before storing it.

This helps to prevent moths as well as prolong the life of your cherished piece.

One jumper. One native tree.

Every jumper sold funds one native New Zealand tree. Not a portion of profit somewhere down the line, one sale, one tree, every time.

Native trees take decades to mature. This is not a quick offset, it is a slow, deliberate act that mirrors how we make the knitwear itself.

Just like you, our styles and colours are unique and limited edition.

Small batch isn't just random words we say, it means the colour run and style is limited (we dont mass order yarn and will never even make 50 of style), so once a shade sells out, it is gone. We don't mass produce, EVER.

What does WholeGarment actually mean.

No cutting. Each piece is knitted to its exact finished shape, so there are no panels to cut and no offcuts left on the floor.

No sewing seams. Because the garment is knitted whole, there are no side seams to itch, pull, or wear through first.

Less waste built in, fewer weak points to fail. That is the whole reason we knit this way.

Merino Camel, Larry Vest.

A quiet layering piece. Worn on its own now, then with a shirt underneath, and finally under a jacket once it turns colder. Built the same way as everything else we make, seamlessly knitted, nothing wasted. Intentional.

Seamlessly knitted on a WholeGarment machine and hand finished, no seams to wear through first. A piece built to move between the end of the cooler months and whatever comes next.

Why does possum make merino or cashmere warmer.

Possum fibre is hollow. Each strand traps its own layer of air, which is what makes it such an effective insulator against the cold.

Blended with merino, it adds warmth without adding weight, so the finished knit sits lighter against the skin than merino alone.

Three fibres, one yarn, perfectly blended. Cashmere, possum, and silk, or merino possum silk, spun as a single yarn. We knit it seamlessly, with nothing wasted. That is the whole idea behind NZ Charly.
