What a stellar Friday of Interschool Sports for Makauri School!

All three of our teams gave it their absolute all and brought home a clean sweep of wins.

Rugby Development Team
Our development team hosted Mangapapa in a hard-fought, thrilling match. It was a tight game from start to finish, but Makauri’s determination paid off as the team kept pushing until the final whistle to secure the victory.

Player of the Day: Mason, for his outstanding effort and grit!

Rugby Competitive Team
Travelling away to Kaiti, our competitive side put on their finest performance of the season. With relentless defense and brilliant, skillful passing, they took control of the game and came away with a fantastic win.

Player of the Day: Locky, who earned a dual Player of the Day recognition from both the opposition and our own Makauri coaches for his phenomenal play!

Makauri Netball Team
Playing at home against Te Hapara, our netballers put on a masterclass in teamwork. They showcased incredible court skills, seamless passing, and great team spirit to claim a well-deserved victory and complete the Friday trifecta.

A massive congratulations to all of our tamariki who stepped onto the field and court today—you represented Makauri with immense pride, sportsmanship, and heart!

Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!

🏐 Friday Interschool Sports Update 🏉

What a Friday of sport for Makauri! Here is how our teams got on:

Netball: Our girls hosted Patutahi and came away with a hard-earned win! All the skills and effort Mrs Tietjen has been coaching into them were on full display. Fantastic result, girls!

Development Rugby: Game deferred! The team will now host Hawaiki Hou at home this Monday.

Competitive Rugby: The team travelled to
Mangapapa to challenge for the Weka Ball. It was an intensely physical battle between two evenly matched sides who refused to give in and played hard right to the final whistle. A few bounce-of-the-ball moments didn't go our way, and for the second time this season, we had to settle for a draw—meaning Mangapapa retain the ball.

We are incredibly proud of all our athletes for the grit and Hiringa they displayed both on and off the field today.

Way to represent Makauri!

As always we celebrate learning, those displaying our School Values and the new name, 'Timmy Toughknuckles' for our robot mower! Well done Ned from Room 2, on naming our mower!!

Have a great weekend everyone!
