UPCOMING EVENTS

SCHOOL ATHLETICS DAY -
Friday 30th October (Starts 10:30am)
We need your help! We are looking for community volunteers to assist alongside our teachers at the athletic stations. Having extra adults makes a huge difference in keeping the day running smoothly.

How it works: Volunteers move around the stations with their child's year group. This means you get to watch your kids at every event while lending a helping hand!

Goal: We are aiming for 2 - 3 adults per year group. If you can help out, please let us know ASAP.

ORMOND SCHOOL FETE -
Sunday 15th November
Our School Fete is coming around quickly, so please lock it into your calendars and spread the word to wider family and friends! This is a major fundraiser for our school, and we want to get as many people through the gates as possible.

How you can help spread the word: Ash included event flyers in the 'Newsletter email' to families last Friday. If every family could share these on their personal social media pages and networks, our reach would be huge! This helps us advertise both the event itself and call for stall vendors.

Gala Volunteers Needed: The Ormond Fundraising Group is calling for volunteers to help with set-up, pack-down, and running stall stations during the event. If you can lend a hand, please get in touch with us as soon as possible.

Ngā mihi!

DO NOT DRINK WATER...
Kia ora everyone, please do not drink water at kura - our regular water testing indicated that it is currently not up to regulation. We will be working with the MOE to rectify this and get it back up to speed ASAP. Between now and then, please do not drink the water at school - including the drinking fountains. Please send your child with a large, full water bottle each day. Thank you for your understanding. Nga mihi.

A SAFER CAR-PARK…
We have had some feedback recently regarding our car-park space being a bit hectic at drop off and pick up times. This is unavoidable at times due to our space and the number of students / families we have at kura.

However, after listening to this feedback, our staff came up with a pro-active idea to help our community. As we have 11+ vehicles on-site each day - we have decided to park our cars along the front fence line - completely freeing up the car-parking space outside of kura for our families and whanau. This is not a long-term solution, but a action we can undertake with immediate effect.

Sometimes little things can make a big difference and we hope that this makes drop off and pick up a bit more enjoyable.

NOTE: If it is wet - staff will park in the car-park - as our grounds will be too soft to drive on etc.

Huge congratulations to our very first Ormond School Equestrian team for a great day of jumping and games! 🐴✨

Our riders gave it 100%, represented Ormond with huge smiles, and topped off an amazing day by taking home 1st place in the Primary Section! We couldn't be prouder of their effort and sportsmanship.

A massive thank you to the three whānau whose hard work and support made this opportunity possible for our tamariki. 💚
