Gorge Road Community Swimming Pool

Due to issues with the boiler at Gorge Road School, unfortunately the heating to the pool had to be switched off on Tuesday 31st March (slightly earlier than advertised)!

The pool will still be open until Sunday 5th April, however, will not be at its usual temperature over Easter weekend. Apologies for any inconvenience!

We are excited to have Argus from JC Swimmers back at Gorge Road Pool this term for swimming lessons!

Lessons started on Thursday the 12th of February and will run until the 26th of March 2026. Times are 3.45pm - 7.15pm

There will be squad swimming from 6.30pm - 7.15pm so please respect the space in and around the pool due to more people being there at that time.

Also to note - the waiting list is currently closed for Gorge Road Pool - JC Swimmers

***POOL OPENING SATURDAY 1ST NOVEMBER 2025***

A BIG thank you to our Pool Committee for assessing and fixing the damaged door at the swimming pool following last week's storm!

The pool has been heating up and has had a spring clean and will be opening for business on Saturday 1st November!

If you would like your FOB (key) reactivated or would like to purchase a new FOB, please fill out the Pool Membership form pinned to the top of our page. Once payment has been received, your FOB can be activated.

Due to the wild weather yesterday, unfortunately we need to postpone the opening of the Gorge Road Swimming Pool (was due to open tomorrow).

Our Committee needs to assess the property and any damage to ensure its safe for opening!

We will post a new opening date on here once confirmed - stay safe out there!

Guess what?? We have a new pool cover!!

Many thanks to the Waihopai Toetoe Community Board for the funding to replace our old cover and to Crossroads Engineering, O'Connor Contracting, Grant Black and our local Volunteers for helping make the project happen!

The pool is opening for the season this Saturday 25th October 🏊‍♂️
