We are lucky to have Dr Stannett from SkinScreen West Coast attending our upcoming Men's Health Night this Thursday!

Dr Stannett will be presenting on skin cancer health at the St John Men’s Health Night being held this Thursdsay evening at the Hokitika Charter Club.

59% of the melanomas we have diagnosed at SkinScreen this year have been in men, and 92% of those men hadn't even noticed the melanoma.

Head on down and hear what you can do to keep your skin safe from our harsh West Coast sun (when it comes out to play...) and what changes to look out for in your skin.

A Community Better Prepared ️💛

The West Coast Area Committee is proud to have donated an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to the Haupiri, Kopara and Bell Hill community.

For this small and remote rural community, access to an AED provides an important layer of support during a cardiac emergency, helping local people respond while waiting for emergency services to arrive.

The AED has been installed in a central location at the bus shelter and will be available not only for local residents, but also for the many hunters, trampers, fishers, holidaymakers, contractors and other visitors who travel through the valley each year.

The donation complements the fantastic work being undertaken by the Haupiri, Kopara and Bell Hill Civil Defence Group to build community preparedness, resilience and connection.

We are delighted to support such a proactive community and wish to thank everyone involved in making this project a success. 👏

And the Rapid Relief Team are down on the corner of Arney & Boundary Streets with a hot breakfast with all proceeds going to support the 1in 3 Kiwis affected by cancer.

Men's Health Night is about taking a little time to learn more about staying healthy, active, and around for the people who matter most.
