This week marks a significant milestone, with tomorrow's celebrations honouring the second Koroneihana of Te Arikinui Kuini Nga wai hono i te poo.

A time to honour the legacy of those who have gone before, come together as iwi, hapuu and communities, and to celebrate the enduring vision and leadership of Te Kiingitanga.

Among those supporting this occasion are some Trust Waikato kaimahi and kaumaatua, working behind the scenes and carrying on the mahi of their tuupuna and whaanau across generations. Helping to uphold the values, traditions and mana of Koroneihana, ensuring these taonga continue to be nurtured for future generations. ✨

✨ Great to see our communities in action
It's so good to see people coming together for a shared purpose. Moehau Environment Group and Predator Free Hauraki Coromandel Community Trust joined forces to clear trapping tracks across a stoat-trapping network that helps protect kiwi and other native wildlife.

This important work may happen behind the scenes, but it plays a vital role in keeping trappers safe, maintaining trap lines, and supporting long-term conservation outcomes for our taiao. 🌿

Ngaa mihi nui to everyone involved in helping protect the unique natural treasures of our region for future generations.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us last night for Trust Waikato’s APM at The Thames on Kirkwood

It was a wonderful evening of connection, celebration and shared learning as we reflected on the impact of our collective mahi across the region and looked ahead to the future.

A special thank you to Taima Campbell, CEO of Hauraki Primary Health Organisation, for sharing her inspiring insights on leadership, hauora and the power of community-led solutions.

We were also privileged to enjoy a performance from Te Puna o Te Pito Mata (Thames High School), whose passion, talent and pride added something truly special to the evening.

Ngaa mihi also to our umbrella trust partners Sport Waikato, Community Waikato and Creative Waikato, along with the many community leaders, grant recipients and supporters who joined us.

Making a difference together 🌱
We're grateful to see the impact of community investment in action. Thank you to Motor Neurone Disease NZ for sharing how funding from the Trust, alongside Grassroots Trust and We Care Trust, is helping support people living with MND and their whaanau.

Ngaa mihi to the team for the compassionate mahi you do every day 💛 together, we can help make every moment count.

🙏🏼This week, our gratitude goes to Grassroots Trust, Trust Waikato and We Care Community Trust for their generous grants towards the salary of MND NZ Support Advisor Cat Taylor (right).

🏠These grants mean Cat can support and visit people living with MND and their whānau in their homes throughout the Waikato and Taranaki, like Judith and Allen Jones (left and centre).

🤝Judith and Allen also attend the Motor Neurone Disease NZ Connect Group in Cambridge run by Cat. In that group they have connected with others, including a person diagnosed with the PLS variant of MND which Judith has - they say this has been very helpful.

🧑🏼‍⚕️Our support advisors work alongside healthcare teams to improve outcomes and help people living with MND to remain independent for as long as possible. They help link their clients with the appropriate health care professionals from multi-disciplinary teams of physiotherapists, dietitians, occupational therapists, speech language therapists, and community nurses across New Zealand.

They can also act on their client’s behalf to navigate government agencies and specialist equipment services.
