🌱He Tupu Pua Hou 2026 - done and dusted!🌱

Two powerful days of wānanga on Māori leadership, building confidence, and opening real pathways into STEMM and MPTT programmes for our rangatahi Māori.

Our young leaders flexed their potential, skills, curiosity, and courage stepping into new spaces, connecting with each other, and backing themselves as future Māori leaders.

A huge mihi to our kura: Ngā Taiatea Wharekura, Fraser High School, Te Kura o Hīrangi, me Te Wharekura o Rākaumangamanga.

As well as special thanks to our community .nz ladies, and Atā Whiri crew who attended as well.

The future’s in motion and our rangatahi are leading the way 🔥

🌿He Tupu Pua Hou 2026🌿

Our Rangatahi wānanga has officially begun today, bringing together rangatahi from our kura Māori to grow confident Māori leadership and ignite pathways into STEMM.

This kaupapa is about nurturing the brilliance already in our young people, strengthening tuakiritanga, building STEMM futures, and creating space where mātauranga Māori and innovation stand side by side.

Its great to have our kura, rangatahi and kaiako onsite today to help strengthen transition pathways into vocational education

🌿He maimai aroha🌿
Ko ngā whakaaro nui ki te whānau McGrath e tangi apakura nei i te rironga o Warren ki Mirumiru te pō.
Moe mai rā e te rangatira.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Warren McGrath, master carver and former Wintec tauira. Warren’s incredible craftsmanship lives on throughout Te Kōpū Mānia o Kirikiriroa Marae. His major works include the Waka Maumahara memorial pillar honouring Te Arikinui Te Atairangikaahu, the Matariki‑inspired Pou Whakarae, and a range of pou and carvings that define the character and identity of Te Kōpū Mānia o Kirikiriroa Marae.

His pūkenga and pūmanawa have shaped the our marae and will continue to inspire generations to come.

We extend our deepest condolences to his whānau and all who knew him.

Moe mai rā e te rangatira 🤍
