Nau mai, haere mai β€” total beginners welcome!
Ever wanted to sit down at the wheel and actually make something? This is your chance.Sundays, 10am–1pm | 4 weeks, starting 23 August 2026

Tutored by the wonderful Sarah Steed, this taster course takes you from "what do I do with my hands" to centring, throwing, and trimming your own pieces on the wheel β€” plus you'll learn how to glaze them ready for the kiln. It's hands-on, it's a little bit messy, and it's honestly one of the most satisfying skills you'll ever pick up.

By the end of four weeks you'll have the confidence (and clay-covered enthusiasm) to either dive into one of our longer wheel courses next term, or bring your new skills along to Play with Clay for some self-directed throwing time.

Cost of clay and firing is additional to the course fee.

Spaces are limited β€” get in quick to secure your spot on the wheel!
