It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Council Chief Executive To'osavili Nigel Bickle.

Nigel was a strong supporter of Rongo Mauri; alongside Annie Neho, he believed in the strength of community-led solutions and the importance of investing in people and local aspirations. Their encouragement and support helped lay the foundations for the work we continue today.

We remain deeply grateful for Nigel's belief in our vision, his leadership, and his commitment to strengthening our communities. His kindness, generosity, and willingness to back initiatives that made a real difference will always be remembered.

Our heartfelt condolences go to Nigel's whānau, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives he touched.

What a week it was! It was great seeing all our rangatahi from across the region come together and have the opportunity to learn the art of theatre performance and sharing powerful messages and real recounts of stories pertaining to "Te Awa o Oroua"

What a an awesome week our Rangatahi have had!

Our rangatahi have learnt so much in a week.We are very proud of them all and we are very grateful for the expertise, skills and knowledge that our whānau from Tuatara Collective and Tauranga Moana have shared with us. Mauri Ora 💚💚

We’re looking for 10 rangatahi (ages 13–18) who are keen, creative, and passionate about art to help design and paint a mural for our Rongo Mauri gym space 🙌
This is a FREE programme with limited spaces available – so get in quick!
✨ What’s involved:
Term 2: Designing the mural together
School holidays: Bringing it to life with 2 full-day wānanga
Working alongside others to create something meaningful for our space
