Another very successful Hastings and Districts interschool cross country event for MKK.
All children competed admirably, showing great Bravery. A number of them gained places which is outstanding.
Congratulations to all those who competed. We are very proud of you.
Thank you to Mr Golden for his organisation. Thank you to all the parents who supported with transport on the day.

We learned how DNA can be used to code information, a bit like a barcode. We then used DNA barcodes to help identify different species.

Our Year 7/8 campers had an amazing day skiing at Whakapapa today.
Beautiful weather, terrific instructors and wonderful encouragement from the teachers and camp parents.
A fantastic day. They will all sleep well.

On an overcast Thursday we ran the rescheduled 2026 MKK House Cross Country.
The children were all well prepared after putting in a great deal of training over the past few weeks.
They all embraced the House spirit and dressed up to represent Hillary, Te Kanawa, Rutherford or Blake on their run.
All children showed great Bravery as they ran their course and overcame any challenges they faced.
Congratulations to those children who achieved a place in their race.
Well done to all the children who ran and gave it their best, achieving points for your House group.
Results will be announced at our next assembly.
Thank you to Mr Golden for all his efforts organising the event. It’s a big undertaking. Thank you to our staff for all their great work on the day.

The MKK children had alot of fun on a terrific Thursday night at the Junior and Senior discos.
There were an array of amazing ‘Out of this world’ costumes on the dance floor and the children had a fantastic time.
Thank you to our Senior leaders for your help at the Junior disco, particularly with the face paint.
A huge thank you to Donnelle Gardner and all the staff for setting up Mangatahi so brilliantly for the disco. It looked incredible.
Thank you to the team for all their efforts on a very busy, long day. We really appreciate all you do to give the children such fun experiences at MKK.
