🔥 Battery Bank Charger Fire 🔥

This happened while a battery bank was charging in a bedroom.

Within minutes the charger overheated and caught fire, burning the wall and power outlet.

Luckily the fire didn’t spread further…
But it easily could have turned into a house fire.

⚠️ Battery banks should NEVER be left charging unattended.
⚠️ Always charge on a hard surface.
⚠️ Only use approved chargers and cables.

Fires like this happen more often than people realise.

Great find yesterday. 10amp appliance with a couple cuts in the insulation, but when I went to repair the lead this is what the plug was like... corroded from moisture and the earth was completing disconnected. Overall a death trap!

Remember, just because you can't see an issue doesn't mean it's not there!

Stumbled apon these today! These had not long been checked and serviced. (Not to say something had changed since they had been done). But they are so far from meeting the NZ standards, that it's not funny. To make it worst they were in a Public accommodation environment 😪
