These are interesting statistics. Remember if you have fire extinguishers at your place of work you have a responsibility to ensure your team know where they are located and how to use them. The focus however is on evacuation and not putting yourself or anyone else at risk.

Carrying out the annual fire extinguisher inspections for one of our customers in Central Hawkes Bay. Certify if compliant and if not compliant replaced on the spot as this is the most cost effective option for them.

We had the pleasure of carrying out a fire extinguisher training session with a team fromTongoio Marae at their temporary storage facility in Napier. After the training one of the Kaumatua, Joe, gave Chris a tour of the salvaged and restored carvings from their site that was ravaged by Cyclone Gabrielle. Hats off to the skill of the whole team doing this amazing work. Wishing them all the very best with finding a new site for their Marae shortly to return their toi whakairo and tukutuku panels home.

Greetings everyone, We are shifting !!!
We will be closing the 704 Warren Street North, Hastings site on Friday 11th August, then from the 14th of August 2023 will be operating from our much larger workshop/showroom at 211 Wilson Road, Hastings ( just off Omahu Road). If you have any cylinders or fire extinguishers with us please collect by Friday 11th August to save us relocating them to the new site.
We look forward to seeing everyone at our new site along with Gasworkz Ltd/Dive East

Early start for Chris at Napier Port on board the tug Waimata carrying out the annual inspection of the co2 flood system for fire protection. He parked up next to navy vessel HMNZS Canterbury that is docked with Cyclone Gabrielle relief supplies.

Here is a quick lesson on knowing who you're really dealing with!!
Chris was out delivering some extinguishers back to a customer this week when he was approached by a member of the public asking if he does fire extinguisher work and could he come up the road and have a quick look at his building. Upon checking out the site, the owner explained they had another company come and do their annual service within the last couple of weeks. Here's where it gets interesting. The service provider had removed ALL of the fire extinguishers in the building for testing and left nothing as cover for a whole week AND they had a fire. They raced next door to grab theirs - it could have turned bad very, very fast. This company has a high hazard operation going on and they were flabbergasted that the service person had very little knowledge or understanding of what was required to complete an annual service.
If you have a company doing any type of service work ASK for their qualifications!!!
After a little digging around with some other fire extinguisher companies we deal with, it seems this is a common issue with this 'Franchise' and we would suggest that they stick to their core business .... it certainly isn't fire extinguisher servicing!!!

Donna in her happy place...lol. Out doing an on-site annual service this morning for a large earthmoving company. Around 150 fire extinguishers inspected and certified. We work with our customers to ensure their work commitments are not disrupted so if carrying out this work on a Saturday fits with them then we do it and don't charge extra to do it. Contact us if this system would work for you.
