We had a fantastic Y8 School Fundraiser Disco the other week, with a great turnout from our tamariki and parents. There were plenty of games, lots of fun, and dancing!

It was a great way to wrap up our Y8 fundraising before they head off to their Christchurch Camp next term. They have heaps of awesome activities planned, and we’re sure they’re going to have an amazing time!

Today Havelock School had the pleasure of hosting Waitaria Bay, Rai Valley, Canvastown and Linkwater Schools for an exciting Solar Buddy and Airbus Day!

Solar Buddy ran two fantastic workshops where students had the opportunity to build solar lights and charging power banks to be sent to children in Fiji. A huge thank you to the Airbus and Solar Buddy teams for generously volunteering their time and helping our tamariki bring these projects to life. What an awesome hands-on learning experience!

We were also privileged to have the Westpac Rescue Helicopter land on our top field! Some of our students were lucky enough to have a look inside before the helicopter had to leave shortly after arriving to respond to a real emergency!

Kaituna also headed across the road to visit Aroha, Ryan, La Mer and Paddy from the Havelock Volunteer Fire Brigade, making sure they didn’t miss out on any of the fun!

A massive shout-out to all the volunteers, organisers, teachers and parents who gave up their time and put in so much effort to make today such a success. It was a fantastic day filled with learning, collaboration, community and plenty of excitement!

On Thursday, Hugh and Andrew came along to judge Havelock School’s Science Fair, and what a fantastic result!

The majority of our tamariki achieved either a Bronze or Silver award, meaning they are eligible to attend the Regional Science Fair! 🥳🔬

We are incredibly proud of the effort and enthusiasm our tamariki put into their science boards and the work they put into bringing their ideas to life. A huge thank you also goes to our amazing teachers for the support, guidance and encouragement they have provided along the way.

What a fantastic achievement for everyone involved, ka pai, Havelock! 👏

Today, we showed our support for Daffodil Day by dressing in yellow and bringing along gold coins to donate to the Cancer Society. Everyone looked fantastic, and we set ourselves the goal of beating last year’s total, and we absolutely smashed it! 🌼💛

A big congratulations to Evie, Knox and Macy, who were named best dressed from each class and scored themselves a prize from the prize box! 🎉

Later our awesome Whānau Leaders, Summer, Archie and Aurora, organised a game of Rob the Nest and a wee dodgeball tournament for some friendly whānau competition, with Havelock Whānau Group coming out on top! 🏆

We loved getting behind such an important cause and being part of the community spirit, knowing that our efforts are helping to make a positive difference.

A huge well done to our Havelock School Whānau Leaders – Summer, Aurora and Archie for getting up and speaking at the Havelock Lions Club dinner meeting on behalf on Pelorus Classroom.

They spoke confidently and did a fantastic job of thanking the Club for their continued support of helping our school to help give back to the community and wider community. They also acknowledged the incredible support Ian has provided Pelorus Classroom in helping raise over $4,000 for Kidney Kids!
