📢QUICK REMINDER: If you're clearing leaves or felling branches this winter, don't forget to utilise the Hawea Green Waste Depot run by the amazing Hawea Community Association volunteers🍃♻

You can pay these fees 👇and obtain the key from any day of the week,
OR swing by to catch the team of volunteers on site every 1st and 3rd Saturday, from 1 pm to 3 pm.
*With the loader available to assist on these days from 2.45pm.

Albert Town Bridge will be closed again during weekdays from Monday 3 August to Friday 14 August, between 9.00am and 5.30pm.

Make sure you plan ahead for traffic detouring via the Red Bridge (near Luggate).
Hawea Flat School families needing to head back into town for extracurricular activities will also want to allow extra time.

The new Hāwea River track runs from the Hāwea Dam to Camp Hill Bridge on the true right of the Hāwea River. It is being developed as a slower-paced walking and biking track, compared to the faster commuter trail on the true left.
will be working alongside to plant 200 native seedlings THIS SATURDAY.

Can you help?

Preferred access for helpers is from Camp Hill Road or Hawea Dam, 2km or a short bike in from either end. The trail is not yet graveled, so expect a bit of mud.
Please note:
* No dogs!
* Respect private land areas

Camp Hill Road will be closed to through traffic on Monday 6 July – Thursday 9 July between 8:00 am and 5:30pm daily
Please allow extra travel time.

The timing has been planned during the July school holidays to help minimise disruption.


👷 What’s happening

Crews have been installing a new wastewater pipeline along Camp Hill Road, across the bridge, and through to State Highway 6. This forms part of the Project Pure upgrade, linking a new pump station on Domain Road to the wastewater treatment plant.

To complete a remaining section of pipeline near the eastern approach to the Camp Hill Road bridge, work needs to take place within the live traffic lane. For safety reasons, this requires a full road closure during working hours.

While the road is closed, crews will also:

🚧 Reinstate asphalt on the western side of the bridge
🚧 Complete minor works on the bridge
🚧 Road closure and detours

Camp Hill Road will be closed to all traffic during the hours above, and there will be no through access.
