Apologies, Dear Community.
We needed to close the Hāwea Green Waste facilities for health and safety reasons after the recent rain event.
The gate key will be available again from lunchtime today at for all your green waste and mulch needs.

The Hāwea Community Association is ours, and we need passionate people with (or without) particular skills to protect our way of life.

P.S.A Amazing news! The Albert Town Bridge work has been completed ahead of schedule and daily detours are no longer required. 👏🏻

We hope you all enjoy the gift of time for the rest of this week, without Red Bridge detours.

Next Step: Address to the damage inflicted on Kane Road by all that extra traffic 😓

Heads Up for tomorrow.
A small section of Capell Avenue will temporary close from 8.00am Thursday 6 August - 5.00pm Friday 7 August. This closure is to allow for contractors to safely install a wastewater manhole.
Traffic entering Hāwea from SH6 will be detoured around Domain Road > Noema Terrace > Bodkin Street during the closure period.

📢QUICK REMINDER: If you're clearing leaves or felling branches this winter, don't forget to utilise the Hawea Green Waste Depot run by the amazing Hawea Community Association volunteers🍃♻

You can pay these fees 👇and obtain the key from any day of the week,
OR swing by to catch the team of volunteers on site every 1st and 3rd Saturday, from 1 pm to 3 pm.
*With the loader available to assist on these days from 2.45pm.

Albert Town Bridge will be closed again during weekdays from Monday 3 August to Friday 14 August, between 9.00am and 5.30pm.

Make sure you plan ahead for traffic detouring via the Red Bridge (near Luggate).
Hawea Flat School families needing to head back into town for extracurricular activities will also want to allow extra time.
