CHILDREN’S CLASSES
Some of these things children/teenagers can create!
I am offering to teach stitching to children from 11 years and over during the school holidays at my Hedgehope Church Hall on following days: 1st, 2nd, 9th, 10th and 11th October from 10am to 3pm. Children would bring their lunch and have one or two fun days. For more information, please ring me:

The School children of Hedgehope made a beautiful Wreath and Poppies and came to the Hedgehope Church, participating in a service alongside the memorial to the Soldiers of this District who had paid the supreme sacrifice in The Great War! They placed their Wreath and Poppies in front of the Marble Slab which was erected in the Church grounds to remember the fallen soldiers. "AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN, AND IN THE MORNING, WE WILL REMEMBER THEM"

On the wet days the painters, Grant Dowling and Murray Keene, started the huge job of totally painting the interior. The Electrician and the builder then installed the new heaters and lights.

Scaffolding had to be erected and as the replacing of the boards began the painters arrived and started protecting the new timber.

The outside cladding of the Church was needing replaced in quite a few places. Of course the timber was untreated 100 years ago and the painting had not been kept up over the years.

More renovations from 2020 were the embellishments on the front of the Church. These were rotten like the two front windows and had to come down and be replaced.

During September 2020, the windows were still getting worked on. I could not believe the expertise and craftmanship that went into making these beautiful windows. I just kept taking photos and marvelling at the curves in the timber.

The winter in 2020 was giving us some wild winds and a sheet of iron from the top of the Church roof came flying off. It was then that it was evident that the roof was past repairing. the nails were loose and rusty and although the builder put up his scaffolding and temporally put the sheet of iron back on, I proceeded to look into the costs of a new roof.

Once the windows were in the Joiner's workshop, a huge amount of mending had to occur. This took a few months to complete. I took many photos.
