WCRDA are very sad to acknowledge the passing of beautiful Honey.
Honey lived an incredible 36 years, 30 of those alongside her Owner Sue and daughter Fern.

She began her RDA journey about 15 years ago with her daughter Mana, where they then worked together as reliable therapy horses over many years. She was well known for her calm and confident demeanour, appreciated amongst volunteers and coaches. She had a particularly special relationship with Bradley (pictured) as they graduated from RDA at the same time!

Rest in peace Honey, thank you for everything❤️

Voting is still open for 3 more days!
Please hop on and vote for our wonderful Jason and Sterling!! It would be lovely to see this picture in the 2027 NZRDA calendar📅

Meet Sterling, an 11-year-old Appaloosa x Gypsy Cob gelding who joined the West Coast RDA team earlier this year.

Since arriving, he's become a great partner for riders like Jason, a long-time rider and volunteer who loves his weekly rides, whether that's around an obstacle course or out exploring the bush and rivers.

🗳Could Jason and Sterling trot their way into our 2027 Calendar?

Today some of our wonderful Tuesday riders finished off term 3, followed by them gifting us a disgustingly delightful “Horse Poo” cake!💩🪰
We absolutely love seeing our riders creativity and skills. This idea originated from us talking about worms in horse poo!🪱

What a great way to end term 3! We can’t wait to see our riders back for a hopefully sunny term 4😎

Jason and Sterling have made it to the final vote for the 2027 NZRDA calendar!

We are after a slow cooker for barley. This will improve the feed value for the horses. Please contact us if you have one that you would be happy to donate to rda. Thanks 😊

Kate is only three years old, but every therapeutic riding session is helping shape her future. 💫

Living with cerebral palsy, Kate is building the strength, balance and stability she needs to take her next steps with greater confidence. Every session is carefully designed to support her development and help her reach her full potential.

For Kate and her family, these aren't just small milestones they're moments of hope. Every achievement today creates more opportunities for tomorrow.

It's not just pony rides in paddocks.
