👷 Our contractors are doing some planned maintenance on the stormwater network on Clyde St between Forth St and Wood St starting today.

🚗 These works will affect motorists heading North on Clyde St, the Clyde St entrance to Kmart, and some car parks on the east side of Wood St. There will also be some activity at the Otepuni Creek on the eastern side of Clyde St. Traffic management will be in place so please take care and follow any signs.

📅 We expect the works to continue for around 6 weeks.

🦺Our busy contractors working on the City Streets Upgrade will be taking a well-earned break over Christmas, and the site will be shut down from lunchtime today. Teams will be back onsite on Monday 9 January. Dee St will also be temporarily reinstated to south-bound two lanes during the site shutdown, going back to one lane on January 9🦺

🎅It’s a Christmas Miracle!

Council will be putting up four sets of Christmas lights on Dee St tonight.

🎄Thanks to our friends at Powernet and NES who are helping us provide this bit of Christmas cheer. There will be some traffic changes on Thursday night for a short time while Santa’s helpers do their thing!

We're gearing up for the full reseal early next year. Keep an eye out on Stead St for traffic management.

🦺There’s some further preseal repairs that need to take place on Stead St this week ahead of the full reseal early next year.

This means there will be some Stop/Go traffic management in place while it is being carried out, starting on Thursday 15 December. It’s weather dependent but we’ll keep you in the loop🛑

Keep an eye out for detours in places for the Christmas races.

🏇On Saturday 10 December, the Southland Racing Club is holding their Christmas at the Races 2022 Event.

As part of the public safety measures put in place to hold this popular event, Racecourse Road, from St Andrew Street to approx. 90 Racecourse Road, and Yarrow Street, from Derwent Street to Racecourse Road will be closed to ordinary vehicular traffic from 8.30am to 8.00pm, on Saturday 10 December 2022.

During the proposed period of closure the following provision will be made for ordinary vehicle traffic which would otherwise use the streets/roads:
Detour routes using St Andrew Street, Lyon Street, Carnarvon Street, Derwent Street, and Tay Street.

🚧Please take care when negotiating the detours in place around this closure, and follow the directions of the temporary traffic control signage and event marshals.
