🏈🏀🏐AIMS GAMES DAY 4🏈🏀🏐

If there’s one day at AIMS Games that really takes a toll on all students, it’s definitely Wednesday cause maaaan it’s long. 😂

So long I’m just going to post the results and wrap the day up at the end😅

🏐NETBALL🏐

Win against Wainui School 38 - 8
Win against Tauraroa Area School 28 - 4
And what seemed to be the match of the evening, having to go into overtime and needing to win by 2, our girls dug deep and came out victorious 28 - 26🙌🏽

🏀BASKETBALL🏀

Lost vs Northcross Intermediate 24 - 21
Win vs Southland Boys High School 34 - 32
Soo unfortunate our boys game against Northcross as that was game to place them in the premiership finals.

🏈 RUGBY 7s🏈

Lost to Chisnallwood Intermediate 43 - 7
Lost to Henderson Intermediate 53 - 0
But save the best for last as the troops rallied their last bit of energy for the day to come out victorious 21 - 20 against Randwick Park School.

A very up and down day for KIS but a day which has really shaped alot of our tamariki. We’re seeing stronger bonds between them, better support out on their playing fields, attitudes are slowly changing lol and we’re starting to have more fun. Athletes do their best when they’re having fun👍🏽

Here’s whats happening tomorrow:

🏀🏈🏐AIMS GAMES DAY 3🏀🏈🏐

Another big day for all three teams. Everyone’s starting to find their groove with their game and applying it to the best of their abilities.

🏐NETBALL🏐
Eight o’clock start saw our girls up early. They rallied themselves together and came out strong, winning 37 - 2 against Stonefields School. Their next game saw them up against a school from Fiji, St Annes Primary School. Tit for tat as both teams were neck and neck which eventually led to a 13 all draw. Two more games for our girls tomorrow which will determine their final pool. Keep workibg hard girls.

🏀BASKETBALL🏀
Our boys had two afternoon games which saw them have a nice easy morning. Though when time came, they were on! Big plays and strong physicality saw the boys when both games 31 - 23 against Te Puke Intermediate and 31 - 16 against Pinehurst Junior School. This has placed the boys in the top 32 schools tournament. They have one game in the morning which will determine if they’ll move to the premiership final (1 - 16) or championship final (17 - 32). Dig it in boys, who knows what could happen.

🏈RUGBY 7s🏈
After a strong start yesterday, our rugby 7s team were amping to continue their hot streak. They started strong and eventually came away with a win 41 - 5 against Te Wharekura o Ruatoki. A clash for top honours of the pool between the boys and Manurewa Intermediate saw both teams working hard early. But ill discipline and change in dynamics saw our boys fall short 29 - 10. A defeat in which our boys will definitely learn from and come back stronger. With that being said, their result in the pool has seen them into the top 16 of tournament! Massive achievement👍🏽 Use this as motivation to strive for the best result.

Āpōpō looks a lot longer for all teams:

Netball
8:00am vs Wainui Intermediate (Court 8 )
12:00pm vs Tauraroa Area School (Court 12)

Basketball
9:40am vs Northcross Intermediate (Court 8 )
Depending on the result, they’ll either play at 2:40pm or 3:30pm.

Rugby 7s
10:05am vs Chisnallwood Intermediate (Field 2)
2:15pm vs Henderson Intermediate (Field 1)
3:55pm vs Randwick Park School (Field 3)

Soo many opportunities for our kids to go above and beyond their own expectations. Dig deep and believe in yourselves◻️🔵⚪️🔷

🏈🏀🏐AIMS GAMES DAY 2🏈🏀🏐

Biiiigg start for all our teams as AIMS Games officially kicked off. All three teams had two games today. Sunday, Monday & Tuesday are round robins. Their results determine their pools they’ll be in for the rest of the week.

NETBALL
Our girls started the day strong with a convincing win over Whatawhata School 39 - 9. Heading into their second game, they came up against Sacred Heart Girls College New Plymouth. Unfortunately, our girls lost 26 - 9. The girls are definitely finding their groove and are really working well together.

BASKETBALL
Our BBall team began their campaign today. Starting off with a strong win against Elim Christian College 59 - 25. Their next game saw them match up against the defending champs St Bernard College. Tough luck throughout the game as our boys fell short 39 - 18. Mean effort boys! Heads up and keep working hard.

RUGBY 7S
Our rugby team had, what felt the biggest set up of the day, a game at 9am this morning then their last game at 4:45pm🙃 their first game was against Highlands Intermediate which they won 27 - 12. To kill time, the boys had a big kai, a relaxing session with Whaea Lou (some boys fell asleep) and then a nice ice bath to wake them up ready for their afternoon game. They took on St Pauls College Ponsonby, tough team from Auckland. But with perseverance and grit, the boys came out strong and took the win 17 - 12👌🏽Awesome mahi our rugby boys. Bit of momentum for them heading into the week.

Here’s how tomorrow looks:

Netball
8:00am vs Stonefields School (Court 15)
12:00pm vs St Anne’s Primary School (Court 18)

Basketball
2:40pm vs Te Puke Intermediate (Court 4)
6:00pm vs Pinehurst Junior School (Court 4)

Rugby 7s
10:05am vs Te Wharekura o Ruatoki (Field 3)
1:00pm vs Manurewa Intermediate (Field 3)

🏐🏈🏀AIMS GAMES DAY 1🏐🏈🏀

Today, our netball team began their campaign with two games. Great start for our girls as they managed to win their first game 41 - 2 against Marotiri School. With a long break in between, our girls had to build their way back up. This saw our girls fall short 39 - 4 against Diocesan School for Girls Auckland. A valiant start for our girls and a lot of learnings to take away.

Our Rugby 7s & Basketball team had a day off, which saw a quick opportunity for a little train and down time. They came to tautoko our girls in their afternoon game. To cap our night off, we had a kaitahi together as majority of the week, they won’t be able to watch or support each other. Good (and loud🙃) vibes between our tamariki which shows how excited they are.

Early start for all teams as they get into the week:

Netball
9:00am vs Whatawhata School
12:00pm vs Sacred Heart Girls College (New Plymouth)

Rugby 7s
9:15am vs Highlands Intermediate
4:45pm vs St Pauls College Ponsonby

Basketball
9:00am vs Elim Christian College
2:00pm vs St Bernards College
