As part of International Volunteer Year 2026, the United Fire Brigades' Association (UFBA) is inviting New Zealanders to nominate their local volunteer fire brigade for Brigade of the Year.

As soon as the siren goes we go to where we are needed to help people in need.

We’re there for you on your worst day, so this is your chance to show how we have helped you.

Another good night at training last night 🌙... establishing water, showing water ... gave the community garden a little water too 😉 come along Monday nights 7.30pm ... we want you, no matter what you think about your skills, you DO have something to offer .. believe me 🫵💪🏾👩🏼‍🚒👨🏽‍🚒

When a month has five Mondays our brigade celebrates by having a little games night playing pool and darts ... sharing food 😋, listening to music 🎶 having a laugh... so Monday the 29 of June was the night.. we did have a few members away tonight 😔but more pizza for us 🤣.. Thank you to Te Pātaka o Kaiwaka for supplying the delicious pizzas from Fusion ... Thank you for supporting us like we support you ❤️

To the wonderful sweetcorn fairies who delivered a few sacks of corn to the team of the brigade on Monday night thank you so much it really was a treat 😀 🌽
