'Waiho i te toipoto, Kaua i te toiroa,
Let us keep close together, not wide apart' ❤️🤍🖤

Today we visited Pariroa Pa and it was a truly special experience, and we feel privileged as a kura to be building such a meaningful relationship with the whānau there. Arohanui to Wai, Cass and everyone at the pa for welcoming us with open arms. It was a day full of learning, connection and shared celebration.

We had the privilege of learning about the early days of life on the Pa, including the school which used to operate on the Pa grounds prior to it’s closure. Following this many students enrolled down the road at Kakaramea School.

Following this, our tamariki took part in a range of activities, including traditional Māori games with Mrs Singh and Jason from Sport Taranaki, making poi with Whaea Lulu and Mrs Rutten and Tī Rākau with Mrs Tai. Ngā mihi nui to all of you for making our day such a special event. It is wonderful to continue to develop and strengthen our partnerships beyond our school gates and a huge thank you to the parents and whànau who attended to support us, thank you for continuing to be our biggest champions and we loved sharing this experience with you.

To finish the day, we performed Poi E, lead by Wai an original member of the Pātea Māori Club, we proudly sang along. It was such a special moment and a memory our tamariki will carry with them for a long time.

Lastly, a huge thank you to everyone for your incredibly kind and generous offer of shared kai, we were overwhelmed with your generosity and it was a super yummy morning tea for us all to enjoy! 😋 We really appreciate our incredible community support.

Here is to a 150 year partnership and connection in our thriving community. Such an incredible taonga for us to carry with us We are already looking forward to returning ❤️🤍🖤

Kia ora whānau,

We are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow for the start of Term 3.

As you are aware, work on our new school water bore began over the school holidays and is now well underway.

With the security fencing and gates in place around the work site, parking at the school has been reduced. After considering the best option, we have decided to keep our usual afternoon pick-up and drop-off procedures in place initially. We will continue to monitor traffic flow closely and, if required, move to a 'Stop/Go' system to help manage vehicles safely.

Please be aware that collecting your child from the school car park may take a little longer than usual while this work is underway. If your family has after-school commitments or time-sensitive activities, we encourage you to allow extra time for collection or, if appropriate, collect your child slightly earlier from school.

Thank you in advance for your patience, understanding, and support while we complete this important project. We appreciate your cooperation as we work to ensure the safety of everyone on site.

🤗introducing Theresa!🤗
We warmly welcome to our Kakaramea School whānau. Theresa Singh. She will be taking up the teaching role in Rimu Room while Whaea Renee heads off on parental leave. She is beginning with teaching in the senior room for the remainder of year.

Theresa has completed a full transition into Rimu Room in the final two weeks of last term and worked alongside Ms O’B.

The school would like to extend a huge congratulations to Theresa who recently completed her teaching qualification last term and is looking forward to putting all of her learnings into practice. She will be a wonderful addition to the team and we are excited to have her onboard! 🤗🤩

Theresa will start tomorrow in Rimu Room! Ensure you pop in and say hi! 🤗

We hope you enjoy your next chapter with us Theresa! 🤗❤️🤍🖤

Here is a little introduction from Theresa! 🤗

Kia ora and Talofa Lava.

Ko Theresa Singh tōku ingoa, and I am originally from the beautiful island of Samoa. I have recently completed my Bachelor of Education (Primary, Pasifika) at the Manukau Institute of Technology, Ōtara Campus, and I am thrilled to be joining the Rimu Room team in Term 3.

My multicultural family is a big part of who I am. I am married into a Sikh family, and together we are raising three beautiful tamariki who embrace both Samoan and Indian cultures. While my family relocated to South Taranaki three years ago, I remained in Auckland to complete my degree, a journey that strengthened my resilience and commitment. As I prepare to join my family, I am excited and curious to begin this next chapter with our Rimu whānau. I cannot wait to get to know your tamariki, learn alongside them, and become part of the Kakaramea whānau. My son Agam has also be joining the Kakaramea School whānau as a Year 5, so it will be a wonderful adventure for us both.
