From the Kawerau Fire Brigade we pass on our sincere condolences to the whanau and friends of Malcom James Campbell who passed away peacefully yesterday after a short illness.

A loved husband, father, koro, businessman, staunch supporter of the Kawerau Emergency Services and community and long serving Mayor.

A celebration of Malcolm's life will be held in the Kawerau Town Hall on Wednesday 27th May at 11am followed by a private cremation.

Our thoughts are with the Campbell whanau ~ RIP Malcolm

Over the last weekend, the Kawerau Fire Brigade along with dignitaries, representatives from other brigades, friends and family celebrated a mementos occasion.
Kawerau's first 50 year gold star award.
Fred D***s joined the Kawerau Brigade in 1976 serving the Kawerau community for 50 years. This is a huge commitment for him, his wife Lynda and family. Also Fred served many of those years as our Officer In Charge.
All of us at the Kawerau Brigade would like to say thank you Fred for your wisdom and experience, its been a privilege working with you.

Hi everyone. Once again we have terrible weather coming and looks like a lot of rain and strong winds. Just a friendly reminder to get prepared. Tie down items on your section like trampolines, gazebos, outdoor furniture. Have a torch etc ready if the power goes out and keep traveling to a minimum.

Everyone at the Kawerau fire Brigade would like to congratulate Cole Hendl for attending and passing his 7 day recruit course at the Fenz National Training Center. Cole is a great addition to our brigade and we are looking for to see him progress.

Well its been a busy couple of weekends for the Kawerau Volunteer crew.

On the 6th December the crew attended Kawerau Christmas in The Park to help with medical support, fire watch for the fire works, kitchen demonstration and spreading the fire safety word.

And last weekend we had our annual Christmas kids party which is a great way to say thank you to the family's of the crew. Without their support from home we couldn't do what we do. so a big thank you to all the whanau who help support our volunteers.
