We had a beautiful day to have our AGM and celebrate the dedication of our garden tribute to Jim Howard on Saturday. Thank you to all who attended and for those who couldn’t make it you missed a beautiful sunny day and catch up with everyone.
Our AGM went well with 17 attending. We then moved outside where Belinda Howard, one of Jim and Diana’s daughters,unveiled signage, an outdoor table and seating and planted a magnolia.
We followed this with a lovely lunch outside in the sun.
Do come and see our new garden called Howard’s Way and see all the spring colour appearing around the gardens.

It’s that’s time of year again,yes AGM time. All Friends and visitors are welcome on Saturday August 15th at 11.30am. Following the AGM at approximately 12.15 we will dedicate Howard’s Way a new garden developed in memory of the late Jim Howard.This garden will provide a reminder of the legacy and huge contribution Jim made to the establishment and continuity of the gardens. As a consequence of the dedication of volunteers like Jim, Heritage Park has recently been recognised as a New Zealand Garden Trust Collections Garden.
All Friends and visitors welcome.

Just a little chilly in Kimbolton this morning but enjoyed a leisurely walk around Heritage Park. Just a few touches of colour here and there and lots of friendly fantails and a few tui.
Our next working bee is on Saturday 18th so feel free to come along and see what we do or just come for a visit any time.

We had a great working bee last Saturday. Despite the cold lots of our dedicated volunteers arrived and helped with mulching, weeding, labelling plants and tree work with a bonus of fun along the way.A little colour is appearing as it usually done this time of year. Our next working bee is Saturday July 18th so come along and see what we do or perhaps come for a visit sometime and see what you can spot in the gardens.

Had time to take a quick walk around the park this afternoon. A little cool and windy but lots to enjoy including the company of several fantails. A few little treasures and the final fling of late autumn colour.
Do come for a visit any time and remember our next working bee is Saturday June 20th starting at 9.30. We would love to see you then.

Great working bee yesterday and a huge thank you to our 13 volunteers who helped with a range of tasks. This included deadheading, removing some dead or dying rhododendrons, weeding and general tidy ups around the garden. Autumn colour is looking good particularly in the eastern area.
Our next working bee is June 20th so do come along and join us.
You are welcome to visit at any time with an entry fee of $10 per person. We noted several keruru and plenty of fantail as we worked.

A reminder that our monthly working bee is on this Saturday May 16th. We would love you to come along and see what we do and help out if you have time. There are many different things to do depending on your interest and ability and we will guide you.
An hour or several would be appreciated starting from 9.30am. Weather forecast looks great. Just come for morning tea if you are unable to help in the garden.

The weather forecast last Saturday deterred a few volunteers from our working bee but still a great group.It turned out sunny until early afternoon so lots of work was done.Huge job harvesting the walnuts which are now being dried and will be sold later in the year as part of our fund raising.Also spreading mulch was continued around trees and on the eastern gardens.
Our next working bee is Saturday May 16th we look forward to seeing anyone who can come along for an hour or several hours anything helps.
We welcome visitors at any time with some autumn colour to come. Entry is $10 per person so do come and take a walk around.
