Well done the Lake Tekapo Fire Brigade members who completed the Sky Tower Stair Challenge. We know they put in the training and did our small brigade proud. Altitude training probably helped as the third highest fire station above sea level in NZ !

A temporary ban on setting off private fireworks is now in effect for all of the Mackenzie Basin including Lake Ohau 🚫 🎆

We're taking these steps to reduce the risk of wildfires this summer. Things may seem green now, but as locals, we know that it's dry underneath and the fire risk goes up quickly on warm and windy days. It only takes one spark.

Come and engage with Fire and Emergency staff and your local Volunteer Brigade Members.
The Lake Tekapo Lions will have a sausage sizzle at the community hall for a donation to save worrying about lunch.
