Leigh School Leigh School focuses on children's learning through inquiry and fostering a connection to our community, our cultures and our unique coastal environment.

As a way for us to stay in touch with you all, we have started a Leigh School page. Although we have a great website (www.leigh.school.nz), where you will find Leigh School news, a photo gallery, our upcoming calendar of activities and a fortnightly newsletters…we are starting this new page so extended whanau and our community can access all the school updates easily. Please ‘like’ and sh

- Please remember that this is a space that the children may visit so please keep comments respectful and positive.

- The same as our school website, we wont be naming students but will be posting lots of photos.

- The page is a place for you to comment, encourage our students with their work and activities, ask questions etc. The administrator will do her best to get any queries off to the right person.

- If you have any issues or complaints about Leigh School then the correct way to address that is to contact the Principal. Any inappropriate comments left on the page will be forwarded to the relevant person and deleted off this page. We look forward to connecting with you on here soon.

Kids Club is back at Leigh Hall — Thursday 24 September, 3:30–5 pm, ages 8–11.

A free, relaxed afternoon of games and connection for local kids. This month: basketball and table tennis, a team challenge, and a short, fun calm-down activity to finish.

Run by Diego, a local dad with a background in psychology and psychotherapy. He's a clinical hypnotherapist and currently training as a counsellor.

No sign-up needed — just come along. Parents welcome to stay. Questions?

Learn to sail this spring — Sandspit Yacht Club
Does your child (9–16) want to get out on the water? Sandspit Yacht Club’s Learn to Sail programme is an
8-week course starting the week of 12 October, 4–7pm at Algies Bay. Whether they’re stepping into a
boat for the first time or ready to start racing, there’s a course to suit:
● Start Sailing — for total beginners (choose Wednesdays or Fridays)
● Sailing Fast — building skills and confidence (Tuesdays)
● Go Racing — ready to race (Thursdays)
● Club Racing — Monday nights, open to all ages (kids and adults)
Qualified coaches, club boats provided, and a welcoming local club. A first-timer’s first term is just $300
(boat hire included), with discounts for members and siblings. A parent or caregiver stays each week to
lend a hand. Places are limited.
