Today at Taitoko School we proudly wore pink to celebrate kindness, inclusion, and standing together. 💗

Pink Shirt Day is a reminder that small acts of kindness can make a big difference. It was awesome seeing our tamariki and staff showing what it means to support one another, celebrate differences, and create a school where everyone feels safe, valued, and connected.

From bright pink outfits to big smiles, the school was full of positivity today. Thank you to our whānau and community for always supporting the values we continue to grow together at Taitoko.

Our junior team have been making the most of play times by creating amazing things with our loose parts, exploring and enjoying nature, and working together with friends. It has been wonderful to see the creativity, teamwork, and imagination our students are showing every day.

A big thank you to Pete for making some of our equipment, our students are really enjoying using them and they have added so much fun and excitement to our play spaces.

🔬✨ Science in action at Taitoko! ✨🔬

Our middle and senior tamariki had an awesome day out at the Science Roadshow! From hands-on experiments to mind-blowing demonstrations, there was plenty of curiosity, excitement, and learning happening.

It was fantastic to see our tamariki asking questions, exploring new ideas, and connecting their learning to the world around them, exactly what being a learner is all about! 👏

A big thank you to the Science Roadshow team for bringing science to life for our students.

✨ Meet Our Student Leaders for 2026 ✨

We are proud to introduce our Student Representatives for this year: Mark, Samson, Paige, Perise, Saunia and Anne.

A special congratulations to our Head Boy, Mark, and Head Girl, Paige 👏

These tamariki will be role models in our kura, showing what it means to be Safe, Respectful, and a Learner, while representing student voice and helping lead our school.

We are excited to see them grow in confidence and leadership throughout the year 💙

🌟 Ngā mihi nui e te whānau, what an incredible Term 1!
As we wrap up the term, we want to take a moment to say a huge thank you to our amazing Taitoko whānau.
This term has been full of rich learning and opportunities for our tamariki, from Sense Rugby, interschool athletics, gardening, and developing motor skills, to all the everyday learning happening in our classrooms. It has been awesome to see our students giving things a go, building confidence, and supporting each other. 💙
A special thank you to our incredible staff for the mahi they put in every single day, and to our whānau for your ongoing support, we truly couldn’t do this without you.
We are so proud of our kura and the village we are building together. 🌱
Wishing everyone a safe and happy break over Easter. Enjoy the time with your loved ones, rest up, and we look forward to seeing you all back for Term 2.

We spent the day working through some rich maths tasks, stretching our thinking, and having plenty of laughs along the way. It’s always great to see our staff in the learner seat as we keep growing our practice for our amazing students.
