We all know how busy the pools can get, especially with our tamariki having a blast.

It only takes a moment for things to change in the water, and often there’s no splashing or yelling to warn you. That’s why we always say, keep your eyes on the kids and stay within arm’s reach, especially for the little ones.

Phones, chats, and “just a quick scroll” can wait. When it comes to water, your attention is everything.
Aroha first, always ❤️

Kia ora community,

We’re deeply saddened to share that the Foxton Pools is temporarily closed following a medical event that happened this morning, Wednesday 20 May, in which a person has sadly passed away.
Our thoughts are with the whānau and friends of the person involved at this incredibly difficult time. Aroha nui to all those affected.

Our Aquatics staff on site provided immediate assistance while emergency responders attended. Police are now managing the matter and the appropriate processes are being followed.
We want to sincerely acknowledge our team and the emergency services for the professionalism, care, and support they showed in a very distressing situation. Support is being made available for staff impacted by today’s events.

The facility will remain closed while appropriate cultural tikanga and due processes are completed. We’ll share an update on reopening when we’re able.

We once again want to share our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of this individual.

Out of respect for the privacy of those involved, we won’t be providing further comment at this time.

Ngā mihi

Aquatics update; progress has made a big splash 👏

Big mahi happening behind the scenes while we’re closed:
• Flooring work is officially underway. Flooring, drains and coving around poolside is almost complete. This area will be completed by tomorrow. The main changing rooms and foyer will start next week
• Two of the glulam timber beams have been re‑varnished to keep them strong and safe (looking flash too) We googled "glulam " so you don't have to = glue-laminated timber, well waddaya know!
• Pool liner pre‑product has been installed and the installation of the new liner started this week. The play/toddlers/hydro pools have been prepped
• Most of the tiling is now complete, just need grouting done
• Our team is busy replacing old, leaky pipes, no more sneaky drips. pipes have been replaced, area is now ready for paint
• Painting will continue throughout the closure to freshen everything up. Just the ladies changing room, foyer and the main pool area to go
• A number of the pool organs have been replaced (they call them pipes and pumps and stuff, so pretty much the heart and lungs of the pool yeah?)

Ngā mihi for everyone’s patience, we can’t wait to welcome you back into a safer, stronger, and better‑looking space.

Stay tuned for the next update!

Hello! Here’s your go-to update while Levin Aquatic Centre is having a little glow-up behind the scenes:

As you may have heard, the Levin centre is temporarily closed from Monday 13 April to Monday 11 May for essential maintenance to keep things safe, reliable and running smoothly for the long haul
(The hydrotherapy pool actually closed a bit earlier so those upgrades could get underway first.)

We know it’s not ideal, especially for our regulars, but this mahi is all about making sure the facility is fit for purpose for years to come.

So what’s still happening in the meantime?

👉 Fitness classes
We’ve kept things ticking where we can
Tuesday and Thursday classes are running in Foxton as per the usual timetable

👉 Swim School – Term 2
Enrolments are still open, so if it’s been on your to-do list, now’s the time
• Foxton starts Tuesday 28 April
• Levin is tracking for Monday 11 May (reopening day, all going well)

Give Levin a call or pop into Foxton Pools to get sorted

👉 Aqua Tots
• Foxton is back from Saturday 2 May
• Levin returns Wednesday 13 May

Foxton Pools are staying open during this time, with extended hours and extra classes where possible to help fill the gap

We really appreciate everyone’s patience while we get this important work done. It’s a bit of short-term disruption for long-term gains.

As always, if you’re unsure about anything, just reach out.
