Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō is Horowhenua's library, culture and community centre in Levin.

Relevant, convenient and welcoming it is a safe, supervised and all-inclusive family/whanau destination, providing quality activities and opportunities for all. The Horowhenua District Council's Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō page must not be used for electioneering purposes. Any post - positive or negative - made by any individual specifically relating to their own - or someone else's - nomination, intention to run for Council or election campaign, will be removed immediately.

Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō Gallery | September Exhibition

🖼️ Mini Murals by Sarah Wairau

We’re delighted to present Mini Murals, an exhibition by well-known local artist Sarah Wairau, on display at Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō throughout September.

Sarah’s artistic journey spans more than 15 years, including a number of much-loved murals around Levin. For this exhibition, she brings together works from her personal collection, reflecting her deep connection to whānau, Aotearoa’s native flora and fauna, wildlife and the landscapes of our local region.

The exhibition also marks another step in Sarah’s creative journey with the introduction of her new colouring book, inspired by reserves throughout the lower North Island. Each illustration carries a personal connection to Sarah’s travels and experiences, celebrating the natural world through drawing and storytelling.

Come along and spend some time with Sarah’s work and enjoy this celebration of our local places, wildlife and the connections that inspire her art. 💛
