Our Ponga & Koru students have been getting right into our "Italian Kitchen" theme within the Food Technology space this term. From fresh pasta to marinara sauce to piadina flatbreads, we have been impressed with the engagement and skill shown by the tamariki. It's been awesome to hear so many stories of students making these recipes at home for their whānau! If you are treated to a meal at your home, we'd love to see some photos!

The Ponga Syndicate has had a busy term so far! Over the last few weeks, students have been enjoying dance during fitness, getting plenty of practice with their moves leading up to the disco. We were lucky enough to listen to our speech finalists this week, as well as launch into our algebra unit in Maths. Students have also been creating art related to pūrākau, which we are excited to share at the end of the term!

A massive thank you to all of our incredible students who brought the energy, dance moves, and huge smiles to the dance floor last Friday. You made the disco an absolute blast.
A huge shoutout to our dedicated Home & School Committee who helped organise and run the disco. We couldn't put on events like this without your amazing support! ❤️

Our talented students took to the stage at Bandquest and absolutely blew us away with an incredible performance, making Maungaraki School proud!

The Maungaraki School Winter Wonderland Disco is TOMORROW! ❄️✨

Make sure you’ve got your tickets sorted - ticket sales close at 9am Friday!

🎟️ Entry Tickets: $5 per child
Every child attending needs an entry ticket to get into the disco.

🍭 Treat Tickets: $10 each
If your child would like to buy treats during the disco, they’ll also need a treat ticket. This means there’s no need for kids to bring or carry cash on the night.

❄️ Junior Disco (Years 0–4): 5.30pm – 6.45pm
❄️ Senior Disco (Years 5–8): 7.00pm – 8.30pm

Here's what's been happening in Koru...

Democracy is in action in Room 12! We’ve been busy delivering our election speeches and voting on the class policies that will guide our week.

Room 10 has been busy working on their art for the pūrākau about Kupe and Te Wheke.

Rm 13 has been very busy getting ready for the Wearable Arts Showcase at the end of the term. Small groups have been painting waka hoe (paddles), using inspiration from the Te Ara Tupua walkway between Petone and Ngauranga.

Room 11 have completed their calendar art based on the pūrākau Te Kahui Maunga.
