Good to see some of our Valley Bears members in action for Barbarians, Rhinos, Ulalei, Atue, and Tonumaipe’a.

Big congrats to Barbarians for taking home the Plate Final, edging out a young and up-and-coming Ulalei side that’s got a lot of promise and a big future. And shoutout to Tonumaipe’a who shared the Cup with Porirua United after a dispute over who had the bigger bats 👀😩😂

At the end of the day, this is a game we all love, and when you put everything out there, emotions can run high. But we’ve got to stay calm, stay humble, and remember we’re setting the standard—especially for the young ones watching, and for our elders who are praying for us and supporting us every step of the way.

Thank you to Resene uso’s for putting on a great comp for 2026….

God Bless🙏🏽🐻💙

To our inspirational captain, Tiso Saolele, thank you for your outstanding leadership and performances with the bat throughout the tournament.

Across four matches, Tiso carried the team with consistency and composure, averaging 25+ runs, with a highest score of 37 runs.

Your example set the standard — calm under pressure, selfless in leadership, and committed to the BEARS!.

Fa‘afetai tele lava i lau susuga le Kapeteni. Your heart continues to lift the Bears.
(It must be hard having to carry Arnold Faaaliga all week - Choohoo MrFiaPoko) 😂😜🐻❤️

E muamua lava, matou te fa‘afetai i le Atua mo ana fa‘amanuiaga ma lana ta‘ita‘iga i tatou uma ma le manuia.
We are grateful for the privilege of playing the game of our ancestors — Kirikiti — and for the opportunity to honour our history and culture.

Fa‘afetai tele lava to all our supporters, , for your prayers, encouragement, and continued support throughout the tournament.

Fa‘afetai tele lava to Wellington Sāmoa Kirikiti Association - WSKA for delivering another well-run and successful tournament, providing our Wellington community with a space to come together in fellowship through Kirikiti.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to AF Builders Arnold Faaliga and G&S Roofing Ltd Jon Lucas for your ongoing sponsorship and belief in our kaupapa. Your support plays a vital role in what we are building.

Lastly, thank you to all our Bears Brothers for turning up, committing fully, and representing with pride, discipline and integrity — regardless of the outcome.

Ma le loto maulalo, Ia maua se tausaga fou manuia mo tatou uma. God Bless. Alofa tele atu.

The Bear spirit stands strong. ❤️🐻🙏🏾

Shoutout to the Tialata Twins – Tali & Tomasi 💪🏽
Playing in their first ever Kirikiti competition and both boys showed up big time. Solid with ball in hand, fearless, and full of heart. Plenty more to come from these two. 🐻

Yesterday was a beautiful day for Kirikiti. It wasn’t our day on the field, with the Valley Bears going down in all three matches against Hutt Tigers, Resene, and the boys from Aute. But even in defeat, that fighting Bear competitiveness was on full display.

We give thanks to God for His guidance and blessings, because at the end of the day, it’s just a game we love—played in the hope of inspiring the next generation to learn Kirikiti and the fa’aSamoa way of life.

We may be a bit wounded, but the Bear never stays down. We’ll be back.

A huge fa’afetai to our uso who filled in at the last minute: Tomasi, Tali, Siaosi, Petaia, Rei, Puna, Afele, Sam, Iakopo, and Lima. Your support and willingness to stand with us means everything.

Thank you also to Wellington Sāmoa Kirikiti Association - WSKA for putting on another successful tournament, and to all the teams who took part. Respect all around. 🐻💪🏽
