An ode is a joyful poem written to celebrate, praise, or show appreciation for someone or something you really love. You can think of it as a musical cheer or a love letter written in poem form.

Huge congratulations to our 15 MBS students who represented our school at the Northland Book Battle in Whangārei today!

After six weeks of voracious reading, they put their literary knowledge to the test and represented MBS with fantastic CREW values throughout the competition. We are so proud of the way they supported one another and gave it their all.

And the best news? 🎉 One of our Year 6 teams took home 1st place! Faith, Mathew, Harvey and Leo won a huge bag of books for our school library and a little pocket money for themselves.

As our school community continues to grow, so does our need for student transport. We are currently looking to secure an additional lease van for Mangawhai Beach School to help transport groups of students to and from their various activities. To ensure we respect and do not conflict with our current sponsor, we are opening this exciting opportunity up to our wider community outside the real estate sector.

For World Environment Day, Waste Wise is taking action to encourage pre-loved fashion and sustainable choices. Here is how you can get involved:

- Student Clothes Swap | Thursday, 4 June Bring in an item of clean clothing in good condition and swap it for a "new-to-you" treasure!

- 'Nothing New' M***i Day | Friday, 5 June Ditch the uniform and wear your favourite up-cycled, pre-loved, op shop or handed-down outfits. Let’s see who can get the most creative with zero new purchases!

- Clothing Repair Workshop | Thursday, 18 June Don't throw away clothes just because of a missing button or a small tear! Come along to learn basic repair skills and extend the life of your favourite gear.
