Grateful for the warm hospitality (Vietnamese Food my FAVORITE! 😍) and the chance to connect with the Buddhist community in Auckland.

How does a young civil engineer end up as a politician, running both worlds at once?

That is Vi Hausia - Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board. By day he manages stormwater infrastructure. By night he sits at the local board table as Deputy Chair of Ōtara Papatoetoe, one of the youngest elected members in Auckland.

Two worlds. Both serious. Both demanding. And he leads in both without pretending to be someone he is not.

For Vi, leadership comes back to one thing. Service. He is genuinely passionate about his community, and everything he does in both worlds points back to serving the people of Ōtara Papatoetoe.
