Nau mai, haere mai ki te Paerangi, your digital space to get Covid19 information and find support services in Tāmaki Makaurau. Designed with whanau hauā, marae communities and kaumātua; Paerangi can be used by anyone on the web, social media and on our 0800 100132 phone lines. Visit www.paerangi.nz for official Covid19 information in easy kōrero English, Te Reo (written and audio) and NZ Sign Language. There are over 300 support organisations listed with more services added every day.
Created by Te Roopu Waiora (a kaupapa Māori organisation founded and governed by whanau haua), Te Ohonga (kaumātua and tikanga advisors supporting the health sector) and Te Kotahi ā Tāmaki (a network of 36 marae in Tāmaki Makaurau), Paerangi is a collective, Māori community response to Covid19.
Finally, whakataukī provide a glimpse of tīpuna wisdom. Nō reira e te whānau... ‘ahakoa te tawhiti, ko Paerangi ka tūhono i a tātou’. In spite of the distance, it is the horizon that connects us.
