Pohutukawa Coast Sea Rescue Trust

Pohutukawa Coast Sea Rescue Trust The PCSRT was set up after the Maraetai Beach Boating Club withdrew from sea rescue services in 2001.

The Trust continued operating the rescue service then in 2004 formed Coastguard Maraetai as its own entity. Coastguard Maraetai now operates the rescue service with support from PCSRT. PCSRT owns the boatshed that Coastguard Maraetai use to house Maraetai Rescue 1 and also the old St John's building which has been renamed "Rowan Muir Community Centre". The RMCC is available as a training/meeting v

enue for non profit organisations in the Pohutukawa Coast area. While the trust continues to support Coastguard Maraetai we also have a strong focus of providing boating education to the general public in conjunction with Coastguard Boating Education. Planning is underway to conduct a larger variety of courses in 2016 PCSRT these could include:
- Marine VHF Radio
- Day Skippers
- Boat Masters
- Suddenly In Charge
- Outboard Maintenance
- Inboard Maintenance
- First Aid

It is anticipated that these courses would be held more frequently depending on demand. The current Trustees are:
Rowan Muir (Chairman)
Brian Brooke (Treasurer)
Lloyd Allsopp(Building Administrator)
Nigel Wooding (Rotary of Pohutukawa Coast Representative)
John Webber (Resident Rate Payers Assn Representative)
Ray Beaver (Coastguard Maraetai Representative)
