Community Volunteer Award 2026 Winner - Gary Johnson 🔨

Today, the final recipient of this year's Community Volunteer Awards was presented with their honour by Mayor Andy Watson.

Gary Johnson had a large group in attendance at the Taihape Men's Group at Ruapehu REAP, such is the fondness there is for Gary and the work that he does.

He has been recognised for the voluntary work he does through The Hobby Hut, Neighbourhood Support, the Taihape Community Development Trust, and the Taihape Foodbank.

BURST WATER MAIN - MILL STREET, MARTON

As many residents of Mill Street and the surrounding area are aware, we have a burst water main. Our Operations Team are on site now working on fixing the issue.

Residents currently without water, please note that it could be a few hours yet before the issue is resolved.

We'll keep you updated on here and on our website.

It's time for the latest funding round from JBS Dudding Trust! If you're organisation or school is based in Rangitīkei, or provides benefits to our residents, you may be eligible to apply.

The process is straightforward, with prompts to guide you through each step.

Please take care to ensure your application is submitted in the correct funding category, as applications submitted in the wrong category may not be eligible for consideration.

To assist you, information about the funding categories is available on the website (link in the comments) and within the application form.

Only one application per organisation or school can be considered.
