At He Kāhui Wairarapa, we stand alongside our community to unlock potential through education, training, and employment. We’re passionate about what we do, and we’re driven by the belief that every person deserves opportunities to thrive.

We’re looking for a compassionate, motivated, and community-focused Employment Coach to join our team. You’ll support individuals on their journey—identifying barriers, boosting confidence and wellbeing, and helping them step into meaningful training and employment pathways.

What you’ll be doing:
• Work one-on-one with whānau to set goals and create action plans
• Facilitate engaging workshops and support group learning
• Strengthen relationships with local organisations and employers
• Help with CVs, job applications, and career planning
• Provide pastoral support and guidance throughout their journey
• Practical cultural responsiveness and uphold the values of te ao Māori

What you bring:
• A warm, inclusive approach with the ability to build trust
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• Ability to self-manage and adapt across different spaces and people
• Confidence using computers and digital tools
• Full Class 1 NZ Driver’s Licence
• A current NZ First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
• The right to work in Aotearoa and ability to pass Police vetting

Bonus for:
• Experience in community work, education, or employment coaching
• Knowledge of Wairarapa services, iwi, hapū, community networks and businesses
• A creative spark and passion for helping others realise their potential
• Familiarity with tikanga Māori, te reo Māori, or lived experience in Kaupapa Māori settings.
